Big Tujunga – Santa Clarita – Angeles National Forest
This San Gabriel Mountains ride starts in the city of Tujunga off of the 210 West Fwy. A twisty Big Tujunga Canyon climbing through ranches and rolling hills will connect us to Angeles National Forest Road. Its pretty wild out there and a hilly, woody nature is welcoming you for a relaxed ride.
A couple canyon roads will get us to the community of Santa Clarita, a booming suburban town with a Midwest flare. Across town is another playground but this ride will stop at the Halfway House Cafe, so western, so typical of the wild west that movies are being shot there on a regular basis. We’ll park our iron horses right in front of the wooden deck!
We’ll gas up at the start of Sand Canyon which offers very varied configurations: at first, gently winding through ranches and shady twisties, then climbing up a steep mountain rd enjoying a splendid view of the High desert to end up through more ranches and finally the connection to the 210 fwy. Another 20 min to Pasadena and the pool of your motel:-)
