From L.A and back in 1-day – Malibu Classic. Our ride started from Eaglerider in Hawthorne where Kifaya rented a 2019 Heritage Softail. During our various email exchange to prepare for this ride, Kifaya made sure I understood some facts regarding her motorcycle riding skills: experienced she was, but mostly on the straight roads of the Arabic Peninsula Desert. At home in Dubai she rode the same bike so getting familiar with it was not an issue. Still, Kifaya was in for a totally new experience in the Malibu hills. My priority was to show her around in the most reassuring way: her speed would determine mine, no rush, and no technical canyons such as Latigo, Piuma or Decker. At the end of the day, Kifaya had conquered the Malibu Hills and in every single turn, her line was perfect. She sure knew how to handle this big fat V-Twin!! In the afternoon we picked up the pace, did some lane splitting on Lincoln for good measure and had enough time for some shopping at Bartel’s Store.
The RIDE.
Imperial Hwy to the coast, Lincoln to Venice Blvd, Pacific and Ocean to PCH, Malibu Canyon, Mulholland to Topanga, back on to PCH to Sunset beach and restaurant, then back on PCH to Kanan Dume, Agura Hills Rd and Las Virgenes. PCH again ( I never get enough of this scenic road!) and back the same way we came.
