Two consecutive days with Vincent from Utrecht in the Netherlands. Vince is in LA for the Porche Air cool show at Universal Studios this coming Sunday. He is a man of many skills and hobbies and a smooth riding companion. Vince you are welcome back anytime, solo or with Karin🙂

It all started at Glendale Harley’s where Vince rented a beautiful black Softail Heritage. Quite a change compared to his 1200CC Triumph Scrambler! But in Rome…you know;-) And he did enjoy this big frame. I mean, he covered close to 600 miles, 10 hours per day with one wide smile! There must be something good about these Harleys, right!?

THE RIDES – DAY 1
From Glendale, 101 North to Topanga Canyon, Mulholland Hwy to Malibu Canyon. Coffee break in Malibu. Cruising along the Pacific Coast Highway to Citrus country. Lunch break in old town Santa Paula (@the Rabalais!!) then canyon riding to Ojai valley, Lake Casitas and to Capinteria via rte 192. Orange blossom and marijuana fragrances along the way. Kept our spirit high despite May Gray!
Return via the 101 south and Las Posas to Point Mugu to meet with a nice slab of blue sky and sunshine. PCH/Sunset blvd though Brentwood and for the “fine bouche”…the sunset hours on Mulholland Drive and some unique shots of the LA Skyline at dust. 8 pm, drop off at Mama Shelter. 11 hrs total…Sleep tight Vince, tomorrow is another long day on the saddle:-)
DAY2
“Waiting for the sun” or rather, desperately looking for it. In SoCal of all places…unbelievable!! We went through two changes of plan during day 2. Too much drizzle and fog on Angeles crest Hwy so we headed on to the South East to Hemet via Cajalco Rd. Easy freeway riding and first break off of the 15 south for double shot Expresso Coffee. Passed Hemet, we had Sage Rd all for ourselves and took 79 to Old Town Temecula for excellent Mexican food. We avoided the Freeway congestion on old rte 395 from Temecula to Lake Elsinore. We stopped at the LookOut cafe to enjoy a unique view over the Lake and continued to San Juan Capistrano via the infamous Ortega Hwy. Returning to Mama Shelter in Hollywood was an ocean breeze from Dana Point to Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Seal Beach. And last but not least, going through Downtown LA at 6pm was a good opportunity to test some lane splitting skills. Vince earned it big time. He is a seasoned L.A Biker now for sure!
See you again buddy:-)
